I work as part of The mosques of Kerala. Artistic vocabularies in the identity-building of muslim communities, led by Sara Mondini, funded by the FWO through an Odysseus Type II grant.

In my project, I focus on Muslim hagioscapes and multiple transregionalities in relation to the formation of Muslim communities in Kerala, which resulted from the emergence of emigre-mystics networks (using saintly materials) and axis of early Muslim mobilities in the region (using epigraphical materials in mosques and shrines) connecting them to the wider Islamic world stretching from Southeast Asia, Arabian Peninsula and Central Asia to East Africa
